Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Start Creating Content
There are multiple content types creators are able to use when it comes to creating content on your fanpage. The one type of content you can use is Text.
To start creating content on your fanpage simply head to the home icon on the left navigation bar - from your fanpage you will notice a block "What are we creating today?' here you will be able to create content in the forms of posts where you will be able feature these posts on your fanpage for your fans to view and engage with.
Step 2: Creating Custom @tags on Posts
As a music or content creator, your brand is more than just a name—it's a story. Custom @tags allow you to link directly to your music, editorial features, brand campaigns, and more, all while keeping your posts clean, stylish, and interactive.
What Are Custom @tags?
Custom @tags are personalized mentions that link to external content, styled in your brand colors. Use them to:
Highlight your artist or stage name
Link to your latest single or album
Showcase a blog post, press piece, or editorial feature
Tag a brand or collaborator with a dedicated link
How to Create a Custom @tag
When creating a post, you can build a custom @tag with just a few inputs:
Add Name: Enter the display name of the tag (e.g., @NewRelease, @ArtistName, @BehindTheBeatsBlog)
Add Brand Link URL: Paste the full link to your content (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Substack, or your press page)
Choose Brand Link Colour: Pick a color that reflects your visual identity or release artwork (e.g., bold red for a new drop or soft purple for a mellow vibe)
Once added, your custom tag appears directly in your post as a clickable, styled label — just like a mention.
Example Uses
“Just dropped a new track! @ListenOnSpotify”
@ListenOnSpotify links to your Spotify single and uses your release’s cover color.
“Check out my feature on @IndieWavesBlog — big thanks to them for the love!”
“New episode out now → @TheCreativeSyncPodcast”
Best Practices for Creators
Keep tags focused: Link only to official sources — Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube, editorial reviews, etc.
Update tags for new drops: Change URLs as your content evolves.
Stay visual: Use brand colors or cover art palettes to keep your tags on-brand and recognizable.
Custom @tags help you connect your audience to the places that matter — whether it’s your latest single, a playlist feature, or a shoutout in an editorial piece. It’s an easy way to make your posts more powerful, personal, and promotable.
