Catalog Distribution Activity

Distribution Activity Overview

This internal product update is designed to give your team a clear understanding of how the Distribution Activity feature works for community owners managing their catalog within Makerverse. This view allows them to track the distribution lifecycle of their releases with full transparency across all major states.

Purpose of the Feature

The Distribution Activity section allows community owners to:

  • Monitor the real-time status of their catalog’s distribution

  • Easily identify content that needs attention

  • Track historical release performance and workflows

  • Spot discrepancies or failed delivery attempts

Accessible from the dashboard, this feature is especially useful for teams handling large volumes of music or content.

Search and Filter Options

At the top of the Distribution Activity view:

  • Time Range Filter: Users can filter results using the "All Time" filter to track the full lifetime distribution record of any release.

This is useful for audit purposes, trend monitoring, or troubleshooting.

Distribution Status Categories

Each release is grouped into one of four categories based on its delivery state:

1. All

Displays every track in the catalog, regardless of its delivery status. This is the default view and provides a complete snapshot of what has been uploaded to the system.

Ideal for a master-level audit or full catalog review.

2. Never Distributed

These are releases that have never been submitted for distribution. They’ve been uploaded to the system but haven’t been marked for delivery to DSPs.

These releases might still be in the preparation phase or require further metadata completion or licensing confirmation.

Use this view to:

  • Identify unmonetized content

  • Prepare and activate releases

  • Catch setup gaps before they go live

3. Attempted

These are releases that were submitted for distribution, but failed or partially succeeded.

This state could include errors such as metadata issues, rights rejections, or platform-specific requirements not met.

Use this view to:

  • Identify errors in submission or compliance

  • Coordinate with Support for resolutions

  • Retry or edit flagged content

4. Distributed

These are releases that have been successfully delivered to DSPs and have passed all compliance checks.

Final confirmation that the release has gone live on supported platforms.

Use this view to:

  • Track active catalog performance

  • Confirm distribution timelines

  • Reconcile royalty reporting with release dates

Column Titles and Metadata

Each release entry in the table displays key metadata for easy sorting and review:

Column

Description

Title

Name of the release/track

Release ID

Unique identifier for internal and DSP reference

Artist

Main performing artist or group

Label ID

Internal label code or partner ID

Status

Displays the current distribution state (Pending, Delivered, Failed, etc.)

These columns allow users to quickly scan and search for content by multiple metadata points.

Internal Use Cases

  • Product Managers: Review end-to-end distribution workflows and identify friction points.

  • Support Team: Troubleshoot failed attempts and user queries.

  • Label Admins/Creators: Validate that releases have successfully gone live.
